On the 21st September 2014 two amateur cyclists, Paul Kearns and Steve Tindall set off on an epic bike ride from Baildon, West Yorkshire to Benalmadena, Spain – a distance of some 2,000 miles in a bid to raise funds for two charities, Tomas Leighton Care and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Their route will take them through England, approximately 300 miles to pick up a ferry across the Channel into France. Following a Westerly route through France they will cycle through Normandy towards Alencon, Le Mans, Tours and Limoges. Pedalling on further South through the Dordogne region towards Cahors and Toulouse. Then heading East towards Carcassone and Narbonne where the route heads South towards Perpignan, over the Pyranees and into Spain.
The route through Spain will be pretty much straight down the East coast, passing through Figeures, Lloret De Mar, Barcelona, Benidorm, Alicante, Malaga and finally into Benalmadena.
To help them in anyway shape or form,either by sponsoring or turning up to see them off or being there at the finishing line at the Euroweekly offices on the industrial estate in Arroyo de la Miel on the 17th October at 12 midday.
