All Star Variety Show Middleton Arena

On the Sunday 25th January 2015, there was a fabulous All Star Tribute Show in aid of Tomas Leighton Care.

Maxine and Brian Warner and Suri Lederberger organised this superb night of top class entertainment.

A huge amount of work and planning went into the show for months beforehand and there were a variety of wonderfully talented acts involved with the actual show on the night. The show was absolutely amazing. We have had so very many emails and calls from people saying what a fantastic night they had.

The show started with a short speech by Suri Lederberger and then the show began

Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Brown in Coronation Street and is one of the patrons of Tomas’s charity, came along to show his support too (Pictured left with some of the choir members).

The show included performances by Maurice Abrahams, The Morgan School of Irish Dancing and Abba 2 Nite, who removed one item of clothing every song, to roars of applause for an encore from the guys when they were down to the last layer!

Also appearing were The Greater Manchester Police Dixie Band, The Jewish Theatre Choir, The King David School Choir, Maxine and Brian Warner and finally The Bachelors, who I still can’t believe topped the bill for no charge.

All the acts made the evening a truly special occasion. It was a magical night.

Iceland Charity day March 29th 2014

We had a great bag packing day at Iceland in Fuengirola. We had fantastic help from the Brownies and Guides from Alhaurin. They were amazing under the watchful eye of Tony and Callee Gedge,(leaders) and also from some friends and supporters including Joh Smith and Fernando Cabanillas, Marie Lathrope, Faye Bastie,Rebecca Isabelle Court,Alex Barrett, and Andrea Mravikova . The amazing total we raised was a staggering 899 euros and 80 cents. This will cover nearly five and a half months of Physio, one of the many treatments we do with Tomas. Just to say a BIG THANK YOU to all who helped us and of course to the Iceland staff and customers from the Fuengirola store who were very helpful and generous on this TLC charity day.

Best regards
Jon and Jill Leighton and a big hug from Tomas xxx

He looked ab fab in his little three piece suit (from the local Chinese shop)…17 euros for the suit and he looked a million dollars! (Photos attached. The blond lady, Maxine, is the UK based member of his charity committee). We are even more proud than normal today :)

What a tribute to the stars night it was at the Sunset.

Well, what a sensational evening we all had! A truly wonderful night to remember, not just for the audience, but for the artists, Ricky Lavazza, Nikki Rae and Jordana and for the hotel management and staff.

We were overwhelmed with the number of people who came to support us once again. The first half of the show began with a superb Michael Buble tribute by Ricky Lavazza, followed by a wonderful Adele tribute from Nikki Rae.
Ricky then beautifully sang “You Raise Me Up” to a video showing the story of Tomas’ progress, from where he began to where he is now, giving thanks to all who have supported us over the past 8 years.
To complete the first half, we screened a good luck video message from Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria Connor in Coronation Street and recently starred in Dancing On Ice. Samia is the patron of the Tomas Leighton Care Charity.
Samia also sent along two signed t-shirts, with photos of her signing them, to help raised some money via an auction.
The second half of the show started with the fabulous Jordana as Amy Winehouse, followed by Ricky as Robbie Williams and ran into a fantastic finale with all three artists singing ‘Angels’.
Our sincere gratitude goes to a long list of people who made their own special contribution to making the event such a sensational success:

Huge thanks go to the wonderful Ricky Lavazza, Nikki Rae and Jordana who gave there expert and totally entertaining performances free of charge, all the local businesses who donated prizes and raised funds from tickets for the raffle, the media who publicised the event free of charge, local town hall councillors also came along to support the show and take video footage and photos of the event, the management and staff of the Sunset Beach Hotel, who provided the venue and the show production staff for free, Samia Ghadie for taking time out of her hectic filming schedule to send her personal video message and personalised signed t-shirts for the auction and, last but by no means least, all who attended the event to show support and raise funds to help Tomas.

The total figure raised from the event, including the ticket sales, the raffle and the auction was amazing 5,221 euros!!!
These funds will go a long way to funding the weekly treatments and therapies for Tomas for 2013.
The director Mark Wardell was delighted with the show, as well as the Entertainments Manager Rocio. She said it was one of the best shows she has seen at the Sunset Beach Hotel.
All the comments received so far about the night have been extremely positive and everybody thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.
This was the TV interview with Mijas TV and Karen interviewing Jon,Nikki and Jordana without Ricky. Tomas was also there, where was Ricky, watch and listen …….

Below is the video about Tomas’ progress and giving thanks to all supporters which was shown on the night.
(This video applies to everyone in the UK, Spain and elsewhere who support Tomas, regardless of whether they were able to attend this particular event or not).
Thank you all for helping us to ensure that Tomas continues to progress year on year.

Below is the personal good luck video sent by Samia Ghadie to everybody on the night, together with the photo of Samia signing the t-shirts for the auction.

And lastly some more photos taken on the night:

A HUGE thank you to everyone.
Jill, Jon and a big kiss from Tomas
