The TLC (Tomas Leighton Care) Charity was set up to help our 8 year old disabled son get the much needed specialist medical care he needs, now and for his future.
It was also born to give hope and inspiration to other parents of disabled children to stay strong and remain positive by providing them with help, experience and guidance tailored to their specific circumstances and needs.
Patron of the Tomas Leighton Care Charity is Samia Ghadi who plays Maria Connor in Coronation Street.

The TLC web site is designed to give you the inside story of our determined son Tomas from birth to today and provide various methods of helping us to continue to fund his progress and spread encouragement and support to others in a similar position.
TLC Charity is a non profit making organisation with very low overheads so that 100% of the donations gifted go directly to the cause. You can help TLC via direct donations (anonymous or declared enabling emailed thanks), attending our fundraising events, holding a fundraising event with our collaboration, or purchasing the TLC CD or Personalised Bracelet.
Tomas is 8 years old and struggles with many problems. Tomas was born with Cerebral Palsy and also born totally blind. He was also diagnosed with West Syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy, at the age of six months.
In his first few years he was given little hope of recovery.

Tomas has made great strides over the past few years and due to the help he is currently receiving, he is now able to walk short distances with assistance, see objects within one metre on his right side and is beginning to say a few words. This progress has even surprised his medical team and is due to funds raised to help him get the specialist medical attention and tailored learning that he needs to achieve just the normal everyday milestones that most children are able to overcome without much effort. Tomas concentrates hard and wants to learn, in spite of all the obstacles he has to overcome. Because he listens and learns, he is progressing amazingly well and is developing in areas that were said to have been hopeless.
We are raising money to allow us to continue to afford the one-to-one specialised physiotherapy, early learning, sight and speech stimulation lessons that have helped Tomas to progress so far. We are also hoping to be able to raise enough funds to pay for stem cell therapy in the future, once this relatively new form of treatment is tried and tested, to assist in regenerating the damaged areas of his brain and help him to see better and facilitate better learning and mobility.

Any contribution you can provide, however large or small, will help them to ensure Tomas continues to progress, despite all his disabilities, at this most crucial stage of his visual, physical and mental development. Tomas is a very happy and positive little boy, who is very loving and giving. He will give cuddles and kisses all day long.

He really wants to learn and improve, so thank you so much for helping us to continue to make the most of his potential to progress.
100% of the money you donate is used directly to help Tomas.
